New Categories Announced for SoMe Awards 2012: Submit Your Best Social Media Campaigns Today!

The 2012 Social Media Awards or The SoMe’s are now accepting nominations for outstanding social media work from around the country. You can submit your own work or nominate your favorite Social Media Agency.  The winners will be announced at a gala celebration in downtown Portland on May 3rd. The new categories are outlined below and additional details are available on the SoMe website.

New Categories for SoMe Awards 2012

There have been some improvements with the categories this year and many of the awards are open to national competition. It’s STRONGLY recommended that nominations include a brief video outlining the campaign details. ONLY VIDEO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD. All the details surrounding the new categories and submission regulations can be found on the SoMe website.

SoMe Categories 2012

Brandbuilder: Awareness & Engagement Over $10K (including media)
Description: A social media marketing campaign whose stated goal is to raise brand or product awareness and increase consumer affinity toward the brand or product and whose budget surpassed $10,000 in 2011. Entries will be judged on whether the campaign increased awareness in the social media community or positive sentiment toward the brand.

Description: A social media marketing campaign whose stated goal is to drive leads and/or sales and whose budget surpassed $10,000 in 2011. Entries will be judged on overall return-on-investment (ROI) based on key performance indicators (KPIs) like leads, online sales or overall revenue.

Moneymaker: Best ROI Under $10K (including media)
Description: A social media marketing campaign whose stated goal is to drive leads and/or sales and whose budget was under $10,000 in 2011. Entries will be judged on overall return-on-investment (ROI) based on key performance indicators (KPIs) like leads, online sales or overall revenue.

Social Media Agency of the Year
Description: A Northwest agency that has demonstrated a thorough understanding of social media and has utilized social media marketing to boost clients’ ROI and brand awareness in 2011. Entries will be judged on the cumulative efforts of the agency within social media.

People’s Choice Award
Description: Attendees of the SoMe awards will choose the People’s Choice Award based on votes cast during (or prior to) the awards show.

Social Marketer of the Year
Description: Individual who greatly impacted the industry via writing, speaking, thought leadership, community engagement and displayed a unique approach to overall strategy and tactics.

Non-profit Campaign of the Year
Description: Non-profit social media campaign implemented in the local Portland area that demonstrated a unique approach to strategy and tactics.
